Clogged drains prevention is one of the most important items on your DIY home maintenance list. Kitchen drain seems to be the most frequent issue, because of the type of items typically poured down the kitchen drain.
Ask your Adams Plumbing and Heating plumber about safe biodegradable waste digesters.
In the event of a clogged drain, use a plunger or clean by removing the J-bend on the trap below the fixture.
Here are some useful tips on keeping your water heater running smoothly between the annual maintenance by the professional technician.
If you have a gas or electric water heater, keep the temperature dial setting at or below the suggested Factory Energy Savings Settings.
As your own contribution to sustainability, you can keep your water bills low by planning your use of hot water. Do not let your hot water faucet run – you will love the savings!
WHERE and HOW to SHUT OFF WATER
In case of an emergency, each household member should know where the shut-off valve is.
Adams Plumbing staff is glad to offer you a valve- identifying tags – just ask for one at the end of your service call!
You also want to know the location of the most important valve in the house – the main shut-off valve for the entire plumbing system. This valve is typically located on the house side by the water meter.
ODORS in the PLUMBING SYSTEM
The well-designed and correctly installed plumbing system is odorless. Odors are caused by leaks in the waste, incorrectly installed vent piping, or from traps that have lost their water seal.
Unusual odors sometimes indicate the presence of a sewer gas – while not always deadly, sewer gas is noxious.
The odorous smells in the piping require professional assessment and service. Call Adams Plumbing and Heating for a professional, honest, and thorough service of your plumbing installations.
Never use a blow torch to unfreeze frozen pipes!
It is far safer to adopt a more conservative procedure of melting ice by the use of a blow dryer, or heat gun.
Before the cold freezing weather sets in, make sure that all the garden hoses outside your home are disconnected – that way, hose and hose bib will not freeze and become damaged.
If you have an anti-freeze hydrant, you want to make sure the hose is disconnected – this will, in turn, make your faucet freeze-proof by allowing it to properly drain.
During freezing weather, always insulate water pipes exposed to the elements.
When pipes are laid underground they should be below the frost line to prevent freezing.

Adams Plumbing and Heating visited the house on Monday early afternoon (promptly at scheduled time). I had completely demoed my master bathroom, back to bare framing, including ceiling and subfloor removal, removed old bathtub, commode, shower, vanity. There were water lines above the floor, inside the former framing around the bathtub. I was exchanging positions of my commode and shower, eliminating the bidet, changing the vanity from single sink to dual sink, and repositioning the bathtub location. A very professional and honest estimator provided an estimate within 2-3 hours of the visit. His crew started work the following day, exceeding my hopes and expectations. Two plumbers and a helper showed up. They worked for almost 1.5 days to complete the job. It was clearly evident that the plumbers were not just “banging out” a job but truly cared about doing the best job possible. They were all respectful, pleasant, knowledgeable, and worked in a focused manner non-stop during their job at my house. The end result exceeded my expectations. Both Mr. Adams and his employees are to be commended for the job they performed for me, and I’m not an easy person to satisfy. If you need rough-in plumbing work, you should definitely call Adams Plumbing. I know they also are available for other work, but I’m only able to review their rough plumbing work, which I would classify as excellent!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Rough-in plumbing of master bathroom remodel
Used them for our radiant heating project. Great work and will continually refer to our family/friends!
Adams Plumbing and Heating has been our “go-to” for plumbing needs for the past 10 years. They installed our new boiler system and it has worked flawlessly since. I’ve lived in the Evergreen area since the 1970s and Adams is one of the best that I’ve contracted. Thanks for your outstanding work!
We have used Adams Plumbing for over ten years and are very pleased with their service. Their tech, Adrek is extremely professional in
all regards. When we had to replace our old boiler, Adrek installed the entirely new unit and we love it.
I like my super tech guy from Adams, Adrek. He’s probably the best in sophisticated systems in this area. Maybe all of Colorado.
Adams Plumbing and Heating has done a few jobs for me and they are always professional and do good quality work. I highly recommend them to both professionals and homeowners alike.
Used Adams for the first time today. They are now my “go-to” plumber. The front office was nice, very responsive, and had good follow up. The plumber that came out, Garret, was professional, polite, and worked quickly and efficiently. The job was done to my satisfaction but was less expensive than I thought it would be (no bogus or unexpected fees). I will call them again without hesitation.
Extremely pleased with the service and value we received from this company. I strongly recommend Adams to anyone. This is a very well company with excellent personnel.
